If your LCWA internet is down or very poor:

Step 1: Network Status Message

At our tech support number (800-536-6149) choose option 1 and listen to our network status message; there might be an outage in your area. If so, redial status message periodically to get updates. No need to leave us a trouble report.

Step 2: Cycle the Internet Power

If no regional outage, then first, reboot your computer. That might fix it. Next, pull the power on your router and on the cable going to your rooftop radio (dish), wait 2 minutes, then plug back in. Wait a minute or two. Doing this will fix most local internet access issues. But don’t ever push the router reset button–that will undo LCWA settings. More tips here.

Step 3: Leave a Trouble Report

If no regional outage is reported, and cycling power does not work, then do this: wait at least an hour or more, try again. Sometimes you waiting an hour will give us time to discover and fix things even before an outage recording is made. Then send an email to tech.support@lcwireless.net with your account number (find on invoice) and problem description. Or redial our support number (800-536-6149), choose option 2, and leave us a verbal trouble report. Someone will try to get back to you within a day or so.

How we Solve Your Occasional Internet Issues

After you send details to tech.support@lcwireless.net (or leave a voice message), a support person will evaluate your issue and recommend next steps. The more details you give us in your email to us the better. That’s because often we can identify the issue by using our remote diagnosis tools before we contact you. We do this mainly by looking at the quality of the signal to your rooftop radio, but also by looking at your connection history. In any case, you will be contacted within a day or two with next-step recommendations. For efficiency, we mostly use email, so check that often after reporting an issue.

Our Family of Volunteers Will Support You

When you get help, it’s probably from a volunteer.

Our volunteers love helping other members when they can. That’s because they appreciate our family of members. If they cannot solve your problem over email or by phone, they will give suggestions for how you can fix things yourself. If a site repair or site visit is needed, they will refer you to paid network people that know our systems well.

Note this: we always need more volunteers, so consider volunteering and being part of the fun!
