LCWA Neighborhoods Needing Work to Reach Higher Speeds

LCWA Neighborhoods Needing Work to Reach Higher Speeds

In the previous article we announced that higher speeds have arrived for nearly all LCWA members, at no extra charge. We also mentioned that some neighborhoods will need backbone improvements before they will see those higher speeds. That represents about ten percent of our membership, so you might want to check if you are in one of those neighborhoods.

The best way to identify if your area needs work is to look for your access point name on the list below. If it’s listed there, you may not see much improvement yet. If you don’t know what access point your home is served by, go to this link and look up your account number; it will tell you what your access point name is. Your account number is on the monthly billing email you get the 10th of every month—the account number is just to the right of your account name at the top of the statement. Again you must have your account number to use that lookup table.

Also note this, if you live in an area needing work, there may be an opportunity for you to volunteer to help make those improvements. See this article.

Here is a list of those access points needing upgrades.

–PaseoVista5Northwest

–NewMoonOverlook5Northeast

–RanchodeBosque5North

–SpiritRidge5Northwest

–JicarillaRidge5Southwest

–Grenfell

–HorseShelter/SanLazaro

Again, if you don’t know what access point your home is served by, go to this link and look it up using your account number.

Rooftop Radio Aiming

Even if your access point is not on the list above, your home may need its rooftop radio aimed–it may have blown out of alignment due to high winds. And that can lead to slower speeds. LCWA is evaluating all member sites now and will contact you if we determine that is needed, and give you options to reaim it. Again, we will contact you; no need to contact us asking to check your aim (this is a busy time for us so, sorry, but any such requests will be ignored).
