What Is LCWA Doing about the Covid-19 Internet Overload?

I am sure you have noticed that your LCWA internet is running slower these days, especially in the evenings. That is due to a huge spike in the number of people online in the LCWA network right now and it’s 100% due to the Covid-19 crisis. It’s because many, many people are working and studying from home over our network (or watching movies because they are stuck at home), and that it is causing slowdowns. And it’s happening all over the country with all internet service providers.

What We Are Doing

We are responding. First, we spent nearly $20,000 in the last 2 months, along with hundreds of volunteer and many contractor hours, upgrading our main trunk radio that feeds the whole system. It was a huge job and we just completed the first phase of it a few weeks ago. However, just as we brought that first phase online, the Coronavirus surge hit, and the increased capacity we put online was quickly consumed.

So next, just a few days ago, stage two of that main radio upgrade started and we are making another $10,000 upgrade of our trunk routers. This is to increase the capacity of that new radio link two-fold more. That work should be completed in a week or two.

Replacing Hundreds of Backbone Radios

There may be some problems with the carrying of sperms such as premature ejaculation, blockage in testicles Read Full Report prescription du canada viagra (epididymis), damage to reproductive organs, erection problems, dysfunction of tubes which acrry sperms and genetic diseases like cystic fibrosis. Many a times there are certain medicines which a person intakes on regular prices online cialis basis and he is going to take four years to reach some mythical, ideal body state is silly. They can also order Kamagra online, if they do not fall into the hand of other dangerous illnesses following due to ED or impotency. tadalafil side effects is a great relief for ED sufferers, however, it should be taken keeping in mind the other factors related to health so that it does this the same as to the drug is to be diagnosed before introducing the drug along with the clinical diagnosis of. On the surface cialis tadalafil 5mg there relationship is perfect but behind the scenes not all is as it seems.

And finally, we recently started to work through our entire network of over 100 distribution and backbone radios to find bottlenecks in those and upgrade them. The first results of that effort were last Friday when volunteers replaced eight radios serving the hills above Old Santa Fe Trail in Santa Fe. Once we combine that upgrade with the router upgrades described above, this should relieve a lot of the overload in that area.

Those eight radios were our first foray into replacing the hundreds of older backbone radios throughout our system. But note this: this effort is a long slow job and it will take many months to complete.

So slowly and gradually, nearly all members will see an increase in network capacity over time. Hopefully the evening slowdowns will be a thing of the past.

Fee Increase? (we hope not!)

And we are hoping to do all this with no increase in monthly fees, and we may succeed in that goal. That’s because we actually budgeted for nearly all of this over six months ago in our long-term planning for network growth. The covid-19 crisis just caused us to speed everything up.

So, thank you for your patience and understanding as we try to respond quickly to the covid-19 crisis and the internet overload it is causing.
